A triumphant homecoming awaits veteran mentor Shaq Delos Santos as he rejoins the coaching staff of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses for the upcoming UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament. Delos Santos, the last head coach to lead UST to a championship title in UAAP Season 72 (2010), will serve as deputy coach under the guidance of head coach Kungfu Reyes.

With roughly 14 years passing since the Tigresses clinched their 16th and last championship crown under the leadership of Rhea Dimaculangan, Delos Santos expresses nothing but love and gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him upon his return to the hallowed halls of España.

Having also served as the head coach of the Cignal HD Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), Delos Santos brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the UST coaching staff. His addition to Reyes’ team signifies a strategic move to bolster the Tigresses’ coaching lineup as they strive to end their lengthy title drought in the UAAP.

Teaming up with Reyes, who recently took on the role of head coach for PVL rival Chery Tiggo, Delos Santos is poised to play a pivotal role in UST’s quest for championship glory. Building on their top four finish in Season 85, the esteemed coaching duo aims to harness the talents of emerging stars such as Det Pepito, Reg Jurado, and rookie standout Angeline Poyos to lead the Tigresses to victory.
