The University of Santo Tomas (UST) kicked off its title defense in the UAAP men’s tennis tournament with a strong start, securing a 3-2 victory over National University (NU) at the Felicisimo Ampon Tennis Center in Manila on Sunday.

Nilo Ledama, last season’s rookie-MVP, played a pivotal role in leading the Male Tennisters to victory with a commanding performance in the third singles match. Facing off against NU’s Ibarra Ortega, Ledama displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the match.

The 22-year-old standout from Zamboanga Del Sur wasted no time in asserting his dominance, securing a 6-3, 6-2 victory over his opponent. Ledama capitalized on a fourth-game service break to establish a commanding 4-1 lead in the opening set, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
