Rey Remogat transitions from being a warrior to fighting for the Maroons

The UP Fighting Maroons have enlisted Rey Remogat, a UAAP Mythical Five member, to join their men’s basketball team.

Following the disappointment of losing the commitment of young Cebuano guard Jared Bahay, who changed his mind and chose Ateneo de Manila University over UP, the Fighting Maroons redirected their efforts and secured the recruitment of Remogat. Last season, Remogat averaged 16.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and led the league with 7.9 assists per game.

Remogat expresses deep gratitude to UE, acknowledging them for the opportunity that played a crucial role in shaping his present and future.

The former UE Red Warrior also said that he recognizes the need to make a decision aligned with his family’s needs and personal athletic growth. Despite the difficulty, he views it as a necessary step in their journey. After careful deliberation with family and loved ones, he has decided to play for the UP Fighting Maroons in Season 88–89.
