Philippines’ Jerard Jacinto Competes in World Aquatics Championships

The Philippines’ swimming contingent showcased its talent at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships as Jerard Jacinto competed in the Men’s 100m Backstroke preliminary event on Monday afternoon.

Representing the Philippines 🇵🇭, Jacinto posted a time of 57.18 seconds in the preliminary heat, finishing 35th among 53 swimmers in the competition. Despite his strong effort, only the top 16 swimmers advanced to the semifinals, with Jacinto narrowly missing out on progression to the next stage of the event.

The World Aquatics Championships, a prestigious biennial event organized by the International Swimming Federation (FINA), attracts top swimmers from around the globe to compete in various swimming disciplines. Held in different locations each edition, this year’s championship provided an opportunity for Jacinto to test his skills against elite competition on the international stage.
