Former UAAP Juniors MVP Kianne Olango and Teammate Yesha Noceja Choose UP for College

Excitement abounds in the volleyball community as former UAAP juniors Most Valuable Player Kianne Olango and her teammate Yesha Noceja announce their commitment to the University of the Philippines (UP) volleyball program. Leaving behind their blue and gold National University jerseys, the two stalwarts from National University-Nazareth School are set to don maroon as they embark on their collegiate journey with UP, poised to make a mark in UAAP Season 87.

With a track record of success and undeniable talent, Olango and Noceja bring a wealth of experience and skill to the UP volleyball program. Their commitment signifies a significant boost for UP, as they aim to build a formidable team for the upcoming season.

UP volleyball program director and women’s volleyball coach Oliver Almadro expressed his excitement about the addition of Olango and Noceja to the team, emphasizing the qualities they bring to the table. “When you build a program, you need players with talent, determination, and leadership. That is exactly what Yesha and Kianne will bring, as well as our recruits,” Almadro stated, underscoring the importance of their contribution to the team’s growth and success.

Grateful for the opportunity to join UP, Olango expressed her appreciation for the learnings she gained during her time at NUNS while also expressing her eagerness to contribute to the UP community. “I’m very thankful for the learnings I got from my time in NUNS. At the same time, I am really excited to study at UP for my future while also doing whatever I can to help out,” Olango remarked, highlighting her commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.

Echoing Olango’s sentiments, Noceja emphasized her excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead, both on and off the court. “I am excited to prepare for my future on and off the school, as we try to excel in both athletics and academics,” Noceja stated, reflecting the dedication and determination shared by the incoming UP recruits.

Joining Olango and Noceja are blue-chip recruits Jothea and Joanneesse Gabrielle Perez, adding further depth and talent to the UP roster.
