Esteve Hora Jr. emerged victorious in the men’s elite race of the Go For Gold Criterium Race Series 1.

In a dramatic final stretch, Hora surged ahead of his competitors with a burst of speed in the last few hundred meters, crossing the finish line in 53 minutes and 30.97 seconds. His impressive performance secured him the top spot in the race, edging out Mervin Corpuz of Excellent Noodles Pro Team and Aidan James Mendoza of Go For Gold Cycling Team.

With more than 400 cyclists participating across 10 different categories, the inaugural leg of the race series, supported by Go For Gold and various sponsors, aimed to revitalize the local cycling scene and promote spirited competition.

“Quality races have been scarce in the Philippines, and we aim to change that with this criterium series,” said Jeremy Go, founder of Go For Gold, emphasizing the importance of bringing back exciting and competitive cycling events to the country.
