Emma Malabuyo Misses Women’s Balance Beam Finals at 2024 FIG World Cup in Cottbus

The Philippines’ Emma Malabuyo fell short of advancing to the women’s balance beam finals at the 2024 FIG World Cup in Cottbus, Germany. Despite her strong effort, Malabuyo finished in 19th place during the qualification round, with a score of 12.600 points.

Malabuyo, representing the Philippines on the international stage, showcased her skills and talent in the highly competitive field. However, her score was not enough to secure a spot in the finals, where only the top performers advance to compete for medals.

Joining Malabuyo in the qualification round were Levi Ruiviva from the Philippines and Li Wen Yeoh from Malaysia. Ruiviva finished in 26th place, while Yeoh landed in 66th place.

While Malabuyo will not be moving on to the finals in the women’s balance beam event, her participation in the FIG World Cup highlights her dedication to the sport of gymnastics and her commitment to representing her country on the global stage. Despite the outcome, Malabuyo’s performance serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring gymnasts in the Philippines and beyond.
