In a gripping clash that went the distance, Choco Mucho emerged victorious against Petro Gazz with a hard-fought 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13 win in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.

The Flying Titans soared to their second consecutive victory, joining Chery Tiggo and PLDT at the top of the standings, while the Angels slipped to an even 1-1 record.

Choco Mucho faced a formidable challenge from Petro Gazz throughout the match, particularly in the fourth set when they squandered a four-point lead at 20-16. A determined Petro Gazz, led by Jonah Sabete’s clutch attacks, clawed back to force a thrilling fifth set by clinching the fourth frame 26-24.

However, the Flying Titans refused to wilt under pressure, seizing an early advantage in the decisive set thanks to the dynamic play of Sisi Rondina. Despite Petro Gazz mounting a late rally fueled by Sabete once again, Choco Mucho maintained their composure to secure the victory.

Head coach Dante Alinsunurin’s squad demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the match, epitomizing their never-say-die attitude. Their ability to weather Petro Gazz’s surges and close out the match in the fifth set showcased their mental fortitude and championship potential.
