The offseason exodus continues in the NCAA as Carlo Ferreras bids farewell to the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and prepares for a homecoming at Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
Ferreras, a veteran guard, confirmed his move to Letran in an interview with GMA Integrated News, marking his return to the school where he once donned the Knights’ colors during his stint in the NCAA juniors ranks.
The 5-foot-10 guard, who flourished under the guidance of former Perpetual head coach Myk Saguiguit, emerged as a steady and reliable player for the Las Piñas crew over the past three seasons. In Season 99, Ferreras showcased his versatility, averaging 3.44 points, 2.19 rebounds, and 1.0 assists to bolster Perpetual’s backcourt.
Despite his contributions to Perpetual, Ferreras ultimately made the decision to continue his career at his high school alma mater, Letran. Reflecting on his choice, Ferreras shared, “Decided na po ako and family ko to move to Letran. Ang tagal talaga namin pinag-isipan and ‘yun na final answer last week.” ([My family and I have already decided to move to Letran. We thought about this for a long time and that was the final answer we came to last week.])
Ferreras’ move follows the departure of several players from Perpetual this offseason, including Jun Roque, Cyrus Nitura, and Mark Denver Omega. In Letran, Ferreras will reunite with Omega, who also opted to join the Muralla squad.
